Granite is timeless — its stunning natural patterns and colors make each piece unique. It’s durable, making it resistant to knife nicks, water and heat. Granite is heavy, so the cabinet boxes must be sturdy to sufficiently support the weight. To avoid staining, granite needs to be sealed — we use a 15-year sealant.
Low maintenance and available in a wide variety of patterns and colors, quartz is durable and attractive. Created from quartz chips and resin, it has the aesthetic qualities of natural stone with the easy care of solid surfacing. Quartz is non-porous, making it resistant to staining and also easy to completely sanitize, an important consideration in a kitchen or bathroom.
The ultimate in luxury, marble is elegant and traditional. Marble is resistant to heat and is a superior choice for avid chefs — it stays cool year round, making it a great surface for food preparation. While beautiful, marble is highly susceptible to staining and isn’t immune to chips and scratches.
First manufactured under the brand name Corian, solid surfacing is a man-made surface created from polyester and acrylic. It requires very little maintenance and is resistant to staining; however, it is susceptible to scratches and burns (although these are easy to sand and repair). With a myriad pattern and color options, solid surfacing is a great way to completely personalize your project.
